Resumo

Due to the generation of agroindustrial solid waste, these become an aggravating factor when destined incorrectly to the environment. This work aims to verify if the crude glycerin from the biodiesel production chain affects the composting process as well as its chemical parameters of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), pH and Electric Conductivity CE) and in the nutrition of cucumber seedlings (NPK). Five concentrations of crude glycerin were used in the natural mass of the composite material (0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5%). The chemical analyzes performed on the organic substrates were phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium (N, P, K), besides pH and electrical conductivity. For the production of the seedlings the four organic substrates and the commercial one as control were used. When evaluating the chemical parameters, it was observed that addition of crude glycerin of 0,0; 1.5; 3.0 and 4.5% did not adversely affect the composting process. In the nutrition of the cucumber seedlings the substrates with addition of 3.0 and 4.5% provided greater amount of nitrogen. In this way, composting is a solution for the correct destination of organic agroindustrial waste.
